Chocolate bandit.

Seth is certainly my adventurous child.  I was upstairs and heard some banging downstairs.  When I came down yesterday after feeding Levi, I was amazed to find Seth on the kitchen counter.  He had climbed up and opened the cupboard to get a cup out.  I also found a carton of orange juice on the counter which he had tried to pour into the cup (the cap was off but the carton was still unopened, thankfully, since I had just bought it at the store earlier in the day).  I can’t imagine the mess that would have made.  He also found the Hershey bar I had bought at the store and was a mess of chocolate all over his hands and face after eating a pretty big chunk of it.  I wasn’t sure if I should laugh or cry.  Since the mess wasn’t too bad I decided to laugh – you can’t cry over everything (although if that OJ had been all over the floor I’m sure the result would have been different).

This picture doesn’t do him justice for all the chocolate he had smeared everywhere.

Silly boys.

Call it a cry for attention or the boys just acting normal, but they have been pretty silly lately.  I’ve tried to capture a few of their antics on film.  They are particularly excited about Halloween and have been playing with some of the decorations.  Every day they ask when it will be Halloween.  They just can’t wait.

These are their Halloween “chef” hats.

Let’s go fly a kite.

It has been pretty windy some days lately with the Santa Ana winds blowing a couple days a week.  Last weekend I decided to take the boys to the park to fly kites.  It sure was a gorgeous day.  They were both excited, but when we got there Seth was far more interested in playing at the park than flying kites.  He just ran off and would only come over occasionally to check on our progress.  Evan wanted to get his kite in the air, but wasn’t really patient enough.  He was content to run around the park with the kite flying behind him.  Although I couldn’t get the kites to stay in the air very well either.  It seems like it was much easier to fly them when I was a kid.  What has changed?  I’m not sure, but if anyone has a thought, let me know.

Our lovely fall weather.

Fall will get here eventually, right?  It’s a pretty typical southern california autumn right now.  Did I mention the Santa Ana winds are blowing today and it is supposed to reach a high of 91 degrees at my house?  Now, don’t get me wrong.  I love the weather here.  I am definately a warm weather girl – the sun, the beach, the warm breezes…who could ask for anything more heavenly?  Cold and I don’t get along very well, much to my husband’s dismay.  But, there is a time each year when I start to think it might be fun to wear a sweater and boots.  Of course, by the time spring rolls around I will have been complaining for months about how cold I am and how I long for some warm spring days.  But for now, I’m getting a little tired of the summer heat.  It should be only a couple more weeks before the weather starts to cool down on a regular basis.  Until then I’ll keep wearing my capris and flip-flops and wait patiently until I can put my boots on again.

It doesn’t look like this around most of SoCal, but this kind of weather would be a nice change of pace.

Babymooning.

I can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks since Levi arrived.  Time has gone so quickly.  He is happy and healthy and growing like a weed, at least according to the doctor at his checkup today.  We are all adjusting well, which is great.  The boys love him and want to hold him and pat his head or back all the time.  Levi is certainly my most mellow baby so far.  He really is adorable and pretty easy going, which I love.  So far (I’m keeping my fingers crossed) he is a good eater and a good sleeper.  We are having a wonderful babymoon getting to know each other.

Our adorable addition.

Kicking back on mom’s leg – he won’t be small enough to keep this up for long.
