Brains like traffic lights?

The funniest things come out of Evan’s mouth sometimes.  Every day when daddy gets home from work, he asks Evan to come sit on his lap and tell him what he did that day.  Here is a recent conversation.

Daddy: What did you do today?

Evan:  (He replies slowly and lazily).  Mmmmm, I don’t know.  I have to turn my brain on first.  When my brain turns green that’s when it’s on.

Daddy: (laughing)  What color is your  brain now?

Evan:  Red.  That means it’s not on.

Train ride.

Filed under: Evan, Seth — kimberly @ 16:59

Grandma and Papa took the boys on a train ride to Oceanside recently.  Last week Papa took them to the train station in Irvine to watch the trains before he dropped them off at home.  They loved it and were upset to leave, so Papa told them he would take them this week.  Well, they were so excited for the train ride and had a great time.  They even got to wear some cute paper train hats.  Seth has been talking about it non-stop since then.  Every day he tells me he went on a train to Oceanside.

Can you feel the excitement?

Mmm, train tickets taste good.

Boom-De-Yada

Filed under: Evan, Kimberly — kimberly @ 19:38

If you haven’t seen the Boom-De-Yada commercial on the Discovery Channel, it really is one to see.  It’s one of their own commercials to promote their channel and the shows on it, so it features many of the “stars” from the various Discovery shows.  Evan has also become obsessed with it.  Every day he asks me to find that commercial.  I’ve tried to explain that I don’t have any control over what comes on TV, but I don’t think he quite gets it (especially since we have TiVo and I can miraculously turn on a “kid’s show” on demand).   Well, I found the commercial on YouTube, so every night before he goes to bed we have to get on the computer and watch it.

Aside from its cute and catchy music and pictures, it has a great message.  The first time I saw it, I actually got a little verklempt.  When you stop to think about all the amazing wonders God has created for us, you can’t help but be thankful for all that we have been given.  Even though there are plenty of awful things in the world, there are still plenty of beautiful things and reasons to be thankful.

Here is a link to the commercial, in case you missed it.

It’s a good thing Kimberly is around to keep us from breaking out into pie fights!

Baby news.

Well, it’s official.  We had our ultrasound yesterday and we are having our 3rd baby boy.  The Pearson name is destined to live on.  I think we must have been picked to raise the next generation of good/kind/worthy missionaries/husbands/dads.  I will be severely outnumbered, but it was pointed out to me that I’ll be queen of the castle forever now.  I just hope the 3 of them get along as well as Evan and Seth do now (well, most of the time anyway).

As his brothers before him, this little one didn’t make it easy to get good pictures.  He was moving, kicking and doing flip flops the whole time.  The technician had to make several tries to get all the measurements and never could get a profile picture.  He may be a little shy now, but his camera-loving brothers will break him of that pretty quickly.  All seems to be well and healthy, so we are thankful for that.  Now comes the fun part – trying to decide and agree on a name.  It was hard with Evan and even more so with Seth, so it should be interesting this time.

Here are a couple pics of the little one, for those of you that can make them out.

Here he is, looking out towards us.

Here is a picture of his feet – he’s basically stepping on the screen.
